Mission Statement
Abilities Unlimited supports full community membership for people with disabilities.
We provide direct services and collaborate with other organizations and groups.
Key Services
Durable Medical Equipment Loans:
Abilities Unlimited maintains an inventory of new and used home medical equipment
and assistive devices - including walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, commodes, canes
and more. This durable equipment is available for loan to anyone with a temporary
or permanent disability. No deposit fee is required.
Home Modifications for Accessible Living:
This service is designed to provide home modifications for disabled and/or elderly
citizens who reside within the Bloomington city limits. Services are tailored to the
individual and include ramps, safety steps, bathroom renovations, improved lighting,
levered door and faucet handles, and any other improvements that will make a
home safer and more accessible.
Camp Scholarship Fund:
Provides financial support for individuals with special health care needs, so they can
attend summer or winter camps. There is no upper age limit for campers.
Traumatic Brain Injury Support:
The Head Injury Support Group meets bi-weekly at the Showers Building. Please
call us for the room number and meeting dates.
Chronic Pain Support -- Including Fibromyalgia:
Our staff can speak with you one on one regarding your pain issues. We can also
connect you on-line with others who cope with Fibromyalgia, chronic pain,
debilitating headaches or chronic fatigue. This user friendly, secure, on-line support
can supply you with information, resources, and new friends to help you deal with
the problems that arise from having these “hidden disabilities.”

"For several years, my daughter and I have both accessed the services offered by Abilities
Unlimited. Abilities Unlimited has helped us with home modifications, medical equipment and
camp scholarships. The staff and board consistently treat us with respect and consideration.
They are wonderful." N.M. Monroe County
There are no fees for any of Abilities Unlimited's services. Most of our clients are very low
to moderately low income. Please donate to Abilities Unlimited, so that we may continue
to provide these necessary services to individuals and families.
